Kochi Kimono

Sew an on-trend, versatile boxy cropped jacket for any season. This pattern can be made from wool in winter or soft rayon for summer. The Kochi Kimono is easy to fit and very easy to wear. It features 3/4 sleeves, drop shoulder, side seam splits, tie front and patch pockets (optional).

This is a great beginner project that is super versatile. You can make it with handles so that it becomes a handy, easy to carry purse, lunch bag or even shoe bag or leave off the handles and give Christmas and birthday gifts in beautiful cloth bags.

Sew a cozy pair of pants for lounging this fall. The Carolyn Pajama pattern features a cute pair of pants with pockets, a faux fly and an elasticized waistband that rides below the waist. This is the perfect time of year to sew some cozy flannel pants, but this pattern can be sewn in anything from jersey knit to silk.

Great basic pants for any occasion. The Emma Pants can be made close fitting or slightly more relaxed, with the waistband below the waist. These pants are detailed but not hard to make, with a free PDF pattern available. Works best for twill or pants weight fabrics with some stretch.

Overalls are all the rage now and the Jenny Overalls from Closet Case patterns are a really modern take on a vintage work-wear look. We will sew the overalls with optional bib pockets in full length, cropped, or shorts depending on the student's preference. This pattern features a wide leg, high waist, side lapped zipper and front slash pockets as well as generous, curved back pockets. The pattern ranges from 33" hip to 48" hip. If you are outside that range, please contact the shop before enrolling.

SCHEDULE AN INDIVIDUALIZED LESSON

Learn at your own pace! You can bring a pattern from home or come in and we can pick out a project together. Sewing lessons are $45 for a 1.5 hour session and can be scheduled during shop hours or outside of shop hours. Email us at classes@dabbleandstitch.com to arrange a time.

SEWING LOUNGE

You are welcome to make use of the space or rent time on a sewing machine here in the shop. Call us at 614-407-4987 to set up a time. To help make this a great space for everyone please consider the following guidelines:

  1. Take what you need, and leave the rest. Feel free to use space and tables as needed. Just be conscientious about the space and machine needs of others.
  2. Encourage each other. This space exists to help build the crafting community in Columbus. If you are working here, you are part of that community. So please enjoy each other, and feel free to ask for help or advice.
  3. Ask about our specialized machinery. In addition to the complementary tables and tools, you are welcome to use one of our sewing machines or serger. Suggested donation for machine use is $15. If you need a refresher on how to use a machine please schedule time for an individual lesson.
  4. Support your community crafting studio. You are welcome to bring supplies and materials in from outside of the shop. We also encourage you to buy supplies here, or give a donation to keep the space available for everyone.
  5. Formal classes are encouraged. We love learning from friends and blogs, but sometimes a class is just the thing. Our teachers offer a variety of garment, quilting and Sip & Stitch events. Classes are also scheduled one-on-one upon request.

The sewing lounge is open to the public anytime during shop hours as long as there is no other class or event scheduled.
