Kids' Homeschool Sewing (ages 10+): Mondays Fall Session 1: Color Theory & Sewing~ Sep. 11th, 18th, 25th, Oct. 2nd and 9th, 10 am - 11:30 am

Learn to sew while learning color theory and its application to fabric choice and design! Students will also learn a variety of sewing techniques while making simple projects. Projects will be based on student interest.  Students will learn techniques for sewing woven fabrics.  Gathers, pleats and ruffles, finished edges, zippers, pockets, embroidery, hand sewing techniques and beginning machine and hand quilting.  If your favorite jacket could use a makeover add buckles, buttons, or other interesting elements - secret pockets!

If this class fills up please add your name to the waitlist. When the waitlist reaches 4 students we will schedule an additional time for the same series in consultation with the wait listed students.

The class is intended for youth ages 10 -18, beginner through advanced.


woven fabrics, med to light weight - 1/2-2 yard pieces.  Can piece fabrics together or use more than one type in a garment.   Denim and canvas are heavyweight fabrics - we'd rather not work with those for this class.

sewing notions:  pins, scissors, trims, zippers, scissors for cutting fabric, snips or kids scissors for trimming threads, stitch ripper, etc.

sewing machine:  bring yours if you have one, if you don't you can use ours.

garments to be repurposed - if you don't want to bring new fabric bring a garment we can cut up and make into something else!
