Wardrobe Basics 4: Maxi Skirt ~ January 6th, 2 pm - 5 pm

This skirt is designed with versatility in mind!  Pair it with your Ella top and draped front cardigan.  Make it as a maxi, midi or mini with nothing more than your own measurements and a medium or medium-heavyweight knit fabric.

In this class, we'll take your measurements for waist, hips and length and make a quick pattern for a knit skirt with a 'yoga' waist.  The skirt can be made to whatever length you desire.  Then we'll sew a skirt and yoga style waistband, sew a quick hem and you'll walk out of the shop with a cute new skirt.

Fabrics that are appropriate are stretchy medium weight jersey, medium weight ponte knit, or even scuba knits.  

You'll need 1.5 - 2 yards of 60" wide fabric for a maxi or midi length skirt.  NOTE:  If you want a fuller skirt or are full figured, purchase 2.5 - 3 yards of 60" wide knit fabric.

1.5 - 2 yards of medium weight jersey, ponte or scuba knit fabric, matching thread, sewing machine, 80/12 or 90/14 ball point needle. If you need to use one of our sewing machines, please contact the shop to reserve one.
