Beginning Projects: Zipper Pouch ~ Oct. 14th, 2-4 pm

In this class we'll make a simple pouch with a zipper.  The pouch is simple to sew and you'll learn how to insert a lining and how to sew in a zipper.

Machine Basics knowledge - must be able to use a sewing machine to sew a straight seam and have at least an hour or two of sewing practice.

Supplies needed:

Sewing notions if you already own them - scissors, thread, needles for the machine, etc.
Sewing machine (if you have one that works well).  Call Dabble and Stitch to reserve a machine if you don't have one of your own.
1/4 yard of quilting cotton or lightweight canvas for the outer pouch.
1/4 yard of quilting cotton for the inner lining
one nylon coil zipper that is AT LEAST 14" long in a coordinating or contrasting color

Skill Level: Beginner
Requirements: 1/4 yard of two fabrics: One for pouch and one for lining. Quilting cotton or lightweight canvas are great for this bag. Nylon coil zipper AT LEAST 14" long. Zipper can be much longer as well, we'll use the remaining portion as an embellishment for your pouch! Also, bring matching thread and a regular sewing machine needle. Bring your zipper foot for your machine as well.
