During this class you will create the top for a mug rug with semi-improvisational slashes that infuse 1/8” wide strips of fabric that add a dash of unexpected color or texture. PREREQUISITES: A basic understanding of your sewing machine, the ability to consistently sew an accurate 1/4” seam allowance, and the ability to cut accurately MATERIALS: • Sewing Machine • 1/4” Presser foot for your sewing machine (Yes! You do need this!) • Fabric: 1-3 fat eighths or large scraps for the main fabrics and smaller scraps for the inset slashes (or optional kit) • Good quality cotton or polyester neutral colored thread • Add an Eighth Ruler (optional) • Rotary Cutter and small cutting mat • Small rotary cutting ruler • Basic sewing kit KIT: The optional kit for this class includes fabrics to create a mug rug top similar to the class sample. $8.00
