Carolyn Pajama Pants

The Closet Case Carolyn Pajama pattern is a modern take on a classic look.  The pajama pants are designed with chic lounging in mind.  They feature a straight leg, front slash pockets and a faux fly and a wide elastic waistband.

We will take some measurements and do a bit of fitting to start the class, particularly in the crotch curve which is so essential for a comfortable fit in pants.  This pattern is designed for hip sizes ranging from 33" to 48".  If your measurements are outside of this range, please contact the shop before enrolling.

The supplies you'll need are:

  • The Carolyn Pajama pattern (available at the shop)
  • Light to medium weight woven fabric such as cotton flannel, linen, quilting cottons, shirting, lawn, double gauze or silk crepe.  You can also make these pants out of a medium weight knit jersey (such as the Art Gallery jerseys at the shop)
  • 1.25 or 1.5 inch wide knit elastic (about 1.5 yards)
  • Matching thread
  • Marking tool (chalk, dressmaking pen, or tracing wheel and paper)
  • Your sewing machine (Please contact the shop in advance if you need to use one of the shop's sewing machines).

Skill Level: Advanced beginner
Requirements: You must have previous sewing experience and be proficient in the use of your sewing machine.
