Tilly and the Buttons STRETCH! Freya Sweater/Dress

The Freya is designed as a close fitting sweater or A-Line dress for fabrics with at least 30% stretch.  This could include light to medium weight sweater knits, doubleknits, ponte di Roma, or jersey.  In this class, you'll learn a bit about sweater knits and the huge variety of these that are available today.  We'll talk about how to prepare your sweater knits, some hints and tips for cutting this unstable fabric type, which stitch settings will give good results on your regular sewing machine, and how to stabilize seams and hems.

We will sew a standard Freya (students can choose between a sweater or a dress length) and we'll choose a different neckline during the second session.
